Thomz last pictures.  This is a study in soothing pictures and sounds.  I hope you will enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoyed making them.  UNFORTUNATELY after posting over 400 pictures and receiving only one response (I can accept critiques good or bad) I think it is time to move on to other sites. It has been my pleasure to share these pictures with all of you.  Don't forget...720hd or 1080hd and turn up the sound.

I think the problem lies in the way you chose to present your images.

I saw 13  minute slide shows coming up and just said "not now" - that's just too much.

Try posting just a few single images per day.  Maybe use the gallery.

There's just no logical way to respond to a single image in such a huge presentation.  Let alone actually sit through it.  I'm usually in & out of here quickly.  I don't like spending that much time on any one post.

What I saw was nice though.  But I absolutely did not watch any complete videos due to the time they take up.

I watched them all (four videos so far) when I found time. They were nifty -- particularly the more 3Dish ones.

However, Sockratease is mostly right; there's no way to comment on individual images, and it takes time one must find...you might want to present these videos in the movie section, as well as present individual images here.

I often wish for a fastforward button when watching fractal videos. These are beautiful but if your not in that mood even beauty can seem oppressive.

One issue being zooms that go at a constant speed -- often through miles and miles of repetition before seeing new structures.

I've done some experiments with making zoom videos that avoid such pacing problems, by using a general-purpose keyframe interpolator that can synthesize an image of any arbitrary zoom x centered on a point P given a set of keyframes centered on P whose range of magnifications extends some way both directions about x. With a suitable ladder of keyframes, then, a zoom movie that changes speed arbitrarily, or any still image from along the way, can thus be generated.

Besides that, a color scheme that keeps changing and doing something new instead of repeating itself endlessly helps. smiley

An example:

Please allow me to apologize for not explaining the reasoning behind my slide shows more clearly.  I enjoy looking at smoothly flowing fractals blending in with soft couours and making them is a relaxing hobby.  I make the slide shows so one can kick back...watch the fractals...and listen to relaxing music for a short tyme...tyme enough to let the pressures of the day roll off your back.  If one is looking to see one or two pictures and then leave, this will take far longer then the tyme you wish to invest in it.  Mayhaps in the future I will explain and warn people in advance.  Thank you once again...thomz .

It's not that we wish to only view one or two images, more like one or two images per user!

Your 15 minute slideshows would monopolize time to the point of not seeing other user's work as well.  The videos surely serve the purpose you state, but run contrary to getting the feedback you seem to want on imagery.
