This looks like it's way beyond the point any sane person would travel confused Is that a "normal" z > z*z+c type of mandelbrot? At what magnification?
The deterioration into noise, which produces a hint of structure is very confusing. Nice!

Looks like regular Mandelbrot to me. Seahorse Valley and then fairly far into a valley between a bud with an attached seahorse and the body of the M-set, or something similar. It might not even be very deep, but it's very high iteration for its depth, I can tell you that.

I remember those days. Some of the more advanced math courses required several whole hours of studying per semester. Plus three a week in lectures and one a week doing an assignment or two. On the other hand, interesting stuff.
