This is a 3D anaglyph image. You'll need red/cyan 3D glasses to view it.

It's worth digging to try to find a pair of 3D glasses. The effect is quite dramatic.
If you don't have 3D glasses you can click on the link below to see a non anaglyph version.

The image is a Julia set from deep inside a spiral on a "Dragon" from seahorse valley on the main Mandelbrot set. The C point is
-0.7657608754691261,   0.1086621836218715i. The plot is centered on the origin, at a real width of about 0.000526
 (5.26E-4).

If you do have access to red/cyan 3D glasses, check out the other images in my fractal anaglyphs gallery on PBase.

No comments? I guess nobody's got 3D glasses to view this with. Pity. The sense of depth is pretty strong.

Actually, I saw this not too long after you had posted it.  But was also doing three other things at the moment, one of which was downloading updates to the computer I was browsing with.  Eventually it came back and said I needed to reboot to finish the updates, so I rebooted.

Then when I finally got logged back in, I forgot where I was at the time.  But I was definitely impressed with the feeling of depth, especially in two specific areas where it had darker colors.  Those areas seemed to be even more like viewing a 3-D object than some of the lighter colored areas.  But that was my impression.

Overall, I liked it quite well !!    smiley

I saw it also when you posted it. Once again, I was sad not to have the red blue glasses. The week-end after I was shopping and saw some Frosties with the glasses in the pack...that was a fun coincidence  cheesy so I'm still eating the Frosties and I saw your nice picture in 3D. Thank you and thanks to Kellog's  grin grin

Frosties? I don't recognize the brand name. In what country to you live?

In any case, I'm glad you were able to get ahold of a pair of 3D glasses.

Feel free to take a look at my other anaglyph images in my fractal anaglyphs gallery on PBase..

Frosties are sugar-frosted cornflakes, made by Kellogg's and available in many countries  evil

Duncan

I don't have any 3d glasses, but my father does.
It's just he's always away, either at work or in the pub, so I don't know where he last put them.
I will have a look trough your gallery once I get the 3d glasses too.

Those are called "Frosted Flakes" here in the US. They used to be called "Sugar Frosted Flakes" before sugar got a bad reputation.

I wonder if Kellogg's marketed them with 3D glasses here?

I wonder if the name will be changed yet again?  Some people get offended pretty easily by simple words.  Perhaps something like "dusted flakes"?  That way all the pot heads with the munchies can gobble up box after box ;0)

Duncan,

Your fractal is cool with or without red/blue glasses.  I used to see wrap arounds being sold as special order items at sunglass and glasses retailers.  Do you think there are red/blue contacts?
