Skewers and Cardboard

http://www.fractalforums.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=7519

I was just skewing around with a couple of toothpicks and paper while thinking what combination of parameters might be a nice starting point for my next work of fractal art and what do you know: Suddenly something developed right before my eyes. I had to take a picture of it because this must be the irrefutable evidence that there most certainly is a relationship between fractals (my thoughts), chaos (my toothpicks and paper) and Zaphod Beeblebrox's improbability drive (a most improbable random state of toothpicks and paper).

P.S: I expect that this one certifies as a combination of "critical parameters" as Jesse put it, since I was not able to calculate noiseless hard shadows for this set before version 1.72...
