Description: Just installed Apophysis 7, but can't do much with it

I've installed Apophysis 7 on a windows 64 bit system.  I can create fractal flame but can't render/save them.  I also can't seem to get to the settings panel, or to the gradient panel or anything else on the toolbar.
I have the 64 bit version and the 32 bit version, and both exhibit this behavior.
I'd like to get this working.
The build that I downloaded is Apophysis7x16

I'm running Windows 7 Pro Service Pack 1  64bit
