Happy new year everyone! I wish you all conquer the remaining dimensions in the 21st century - spiritually and computationally!

As you all know, the Julia fractals based on z = z^2 + c possess plenty of spirals. For example, if Re(c), Im(c) are non-zero and c is close to the edge of Mandelbrot set, the screen will be seemingly covered with spirals.

I wonder if we can accomplish the same in 3D and produce a 3D spiral? The shape of this object in the third dimension can be a cone or anything similar. The 3D Julia would be a spiral around the cone. This seems like an easy task in Xenodream, but the result is an IFS fractal.

Do you think we could extrude this image with the inverse distance estimation, so that the center of each spiral would become a mountain top?
Importantly, is it a true 3D Julia? I guess not...
