a _MapTranslate MapTranslate?? How did I miss that one?? Well... Time to go see what Lissa's Pictures do with that feature!! That is the problem! In fact a bump map is different from a normal image; every pixel's lightness must express the height of the bump map in that pixel, plus you need to provide the info in spherical coords, and it seems that it's impossible to match bump and color map for now edit; try also those textures but too bad they are in rectangular coords. And the old problem bump/color persists http://www.samuraisquirrel.com/Textures/Textures.htmlEarth's bump map: http://en.pudn.com/downloads83/sourcecode/graph/detail319133_en.html

Just followed the link you provided.
Have you tried the provided bump map of the same face? It should give better results than the diffuse map it seems you used (bump map is further down on the same page).

Yes of course, but the fact is that the bump map is studied for modelling a mesh already very close to a human face, not a sphere, that's why it does not work, anyway we are asking too much from that poor software that works so good! Another try with that bump map; eeek!!!
