There is another place to look for beauty.  It is where Spinoza, Galileo, Kepler and Einstein found it: nature.  Nature is truly 'magnificent perfection', with all the power, simplicity, beauty, harmony and elegance that one could ask for.  Whether it be a vast 'island universe' galaxy, a simple flower or the human brain, there is much to fill one's desire for mystery, awe and beauty.

Being human and living in human society has its challenges. Within the human part of nature there is great beauty, great foolishness, and great suffering.  Sometimes it is hard to see the beauty in our realm because it is surrounded by so much pain, mediocrity and selfishness.

So if looking for beauty deep within ourselves and/or in our interactions with other humans leaves us unsatisfied, maybe focusing less inward and more outward will be a surer path to what we is seeking.

Yes Rob, of course, beauty of nature, very powerful. The kind of beauty that can also be found within us.
I think you can only feel that special beauty of nature if you not only look with your eyes. You use your own personality and all your experience to look at things, physical or spiritual.

...the most beautiful flowers can bloom without being seen...but they are there. So, yes, nature has to offer everything, perfect by itself...but it needs to be seen...

As always, a polished masterpiece - I hang it on my mind's Christmas tree with other good things.
