Out of curiosity, do you have the parameters of pic4 in reply #79, it is an outside view, right?
Because i have the feeling that the formula i use gives different results...

There is a slight difference between Tglads Mandelbox formula, and the formula uses in this thread: there is no minimal radius defined. Perhaps this is the difference in your formula.

Ok, i thought it would be a zoomed out view on the main corner of the box 

So you are using now the original formula without varying the scaling and without the power function,
only with minr set to nearly 0... that explains something.
