HE WROTE BACK:

Quote
Dear Mr Kleinhuis,

Sorry, I had no time until today to look up your fractal art. It is very attractive.

Do you have more recent fractal art?

All the best,
Benoit Mandelbrot

it seems that he has really written it himself wink
i wrote the following in response:

Quote
Hello Mr Mandelbrot,

thank you for taking your precious time to answer.
I have to admit that i am not the main creator of this fractal art, and i am speaking for the
members of the fractalforums.com site, and we are very keen to know your opinion on
the so called triplex fractals, i provide you with some links to animations/images
for further inquiry:

Great site Featuring lots of 3d Fractals using Triplex numbers:
http://fractalanimations.com/

many images can be found in the gallery, but i want to ppoint you to a blog poster who reviews
many of the images posted on fractalforums.com :

http://orbittrap.ca/?p=1379
http://orbittrap.ca/?p=1227
http://orbittrap.ca/?p=1210
http://orbittrap.ca/?p=1179
http://orbittrap.ca/?p=1161

as stated above, we would love to hear a personal opionion about those new developments,
here is a link of an article describing what we are doing:
http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn18171-the-mandelbulb-first-true-3d-image-of-famous-fractal.html

and last but not least here is a detailed description of the triplex algebra used to produce those images:

I have to admit I'm having kind of a fangirl reaction here... Good response, Trifox, looks like you covered all the bases.

Good answer Trifox. There are actually some images of mine in the orbittrap reviews, so I'm so glad that Benoit Mandelbrot in person might have a look at my work. But most importantly, it's a great success for fractalforums smiley

Someday, man will understand primary theory; how every aspect of our universe has come about. Then we will describe all of physics, build a complete understanding of genetic engineering, catalog all planets, and find intelligent life. And then we'll just puzzle over fractals for eternity.
