I wonder if the right DE would reveal the spirals of the spiral in the 3D version, sure looks like it has the embryo of that shape in my render...

It's not "a bad de".
Fragmentarium renders the fractal identically
Just a side effect of the impossibility of a squaring in more than 2 dimensions without stretch... the stretch flats out some zones wink
You cannot do perfect 3d fractals unless you stick to sphere inversions + ifs transforms (folding emulates ifs transforms) smiley
But you can try to get a good transform. This fractal has a very close to constant ratio of stretching...

OK, I am not getting all you say (just a poor artist wink ) But I have managed to get spirals on spirals on spirals now, with extremely slow render (both DE settings on 0.01) It looks VERY interesting and much like the shapes on this image... I will post my render high res here on ff tomorrow! (if the render is finished smiley )

NP Tom, it is a beautiful image smiley but if you post in your personal gallery it will not generate a post...
