Just a very simple recursive cube thingy.  Not sure it there is a name for it, saw an image of one online and decided to reproduce it.

Here's an image I did of 6 of them next to each other from 2010:

bib made a print of the same shape http://www.shapeways.com/model/807894/fractal-octacube.html and called it an octacube.

It looks like several people just call it 'fractal cube', e.g. from 2005: http://pyrolistical.deviantart.com/art/Fractal-Cube-22791890
as opposed to 'koch cube' for the more filled in version: http://www.shapeways.com/model/2449525/koch-cube-fractal.html

I wonder if there is possibility to create distance function to this fractal - without recursion.
