Hi ! i played with the clipping options of david's 3D formula.

I expected to see the fractals from the inside. but... nothing.
I also tried the option "solid is outside" but it didn't worked.

Is it possible to see a fractal from the inside ? or it can't be done ?
thank you.

often times... there are other approaches which are kinda crappy until you put them in the context of parallel machines

The clipping routine just clips as if the object was entirely solid at the moment.
There are two ways of making the object "hollow", one is to simply make the solid found (using the outside to inside rendering) into a thin skin such that the "inside" is empty. The other way is to develop an algorithm that can ray-step through the inside to find the outside boundary - this is possible (i.e. rendering from inside to outside) but a lot more difficult than rendering outside to inside.
I hope that makes sense.
After seeing some of twinbee's amazing renders viewed from the inside I am planning on adding inside to outside rendering smiley
