Very nice! What program did you use? Mandelbulber? Did you use image interpolation? If yes, is that a feature of Mandelbulber or how did you do that? Thanks bib

I am impressed by the quality of the Youtube upload. Could you please let me know more about your settings? - In what format did you save the frames? bmp, jpg, png? - What size in pixels? - Antialias or not? - What program you use to encode the video from the frames? - How many frames per second? - What codec? - What format (avi, mp4,...) - Is the video the same size as the original pictures? - Any tips to make great quality video like that? I asked about interpolation, because of some strange effects, like at 2:52 in the top right corner. Thank you in advance!

Thanks a lot for the answers slon_ru. I will try Adobe AE and Sony Vegas : these must be expensive programs, no? Thanks also for the codec information. And for the PC, I got a quite good one (i7 920) but I will get soon a second one (2600K, will try OC @4.4Ghz). You have 2-3 computers? Do you work in a computer shop maybe? cheers

slon_ru are you interested in making a tv show with me ?! i am planning for next year something likea a monthly youtube production, a news like tv show presenting what is going on in the forums, to attract a broader range of humans to the beauty of fractals... i would need some fly ins and fly outs and teasers for the rubrics, like: fractal news, geetings to new users that have shout out a welcome message, remarkable images, remarkable videos, section for just describing parts of the fractal universe, research news, fractal software news, weather forectast traditionally with sound ... *my xmas wish*

Well, everyone is raving about the quality and for saying it has been mangled and recompressed at Youtube to a 'mere' 720p, it is indeed notable. I can't get anything decent onto DVD at 720p and so have to keep it all at AVC/h.264 / AVCHD(1920x1080) for my non-existent bluray recorder. I can't get on with Sony Vegas, bib - I've just dumped the demo version as it has a time-consuming method of compiling pictures - and when you reduce duration, it leaves stupid gaps between each frame. How do you get around this, slon_ru? I dumped Cyberlink Power Director demo also. Much better at displaying pictures but had a 2500 image limit(!) The search for best video authoring tool goes on for me. I'm still on baby Win Live Movie Maker [Nero 11 will read movie maker files, meaning one less conversion process] BTW, I particularly like the bluey-purpley things @ 6 mins. The way they ooze past each other is really cool. cheers Kam

slon_tu I'm terribly jealous of the quality you manage to get in Youtube! I am really fed up with Youtube compression. I have spent hours doing tests with all kinds of codecs (including H264), sizes, tutorials, etc...and results are all crappy. Is it because I use Virtualdub only? I don't think so, because the vids look good on my machine. Can Adobe AE really help? Not sure. Here is my latest vid, but to be honest it's a shame to publish it after these countless hours of calculation and such a horrible result once uploaded. I will add some sound with Audioswap. Maybe it'll look better with some music OK, I know there is Vimeo, but they don't have Audioswap. And now Audioswap does not offer such a wide choice as before, so I might simply stop doing videos, this is too frustrating. Can someone tell me exactly what settings to use in the configurations screens of the H264 codec in Virtualdub? I tried this one but it was even worse than the default settings: http://www.donsalva.com/2009/03/01/virtualdub-720p-hd-settings-youtube
