I wanted to try programming a simple animation using Fragmentarium, and then this weird creature came to life  grin

Thanks Johan & Mikael

Here's another one...

Too bad Windows Movie Maker calls this as "HD", even when the compression makes the gradient background so awful sad
I'll have to use some other software for doing this, any recommendation? I mean, to make a decent video out of .jpg's frames... freeware or at least not too expensive smiley

I made some more "creatures", but I think I'll put all of them on one video joined together... maybe as a fake documentary, Christian's comment gave me the idea grin

I use VirtualDub to combine single frames into an uncompressed AVI. Then I use Handbrake to compress the movie file into .h264. Both free.
But it would be nice to have some more editing capabilties for fading/music alignment/etc...

Vimeo is probaly also a better match for HQ video upload than Youtube.

Thanks, I'll try them, and I was also thinking of using Vimeo. And Mikael, thanks again for your program, I'm having so much fun with it lately, and learning a lot about GPU programming, ray-tracing, DE systems, etc. thanks to it and also your blog  A Beer Cup

To improve the quality, you really shouldn't render the frames as jpeg-files. Use bmp or png instead, which are lossless.

Is this still your SurfaceIFS script Kali? Would love to have the parameters! I have played with that script alot but haven't gotten such nice animations.

Yes it is... the .frag's are currently a mess, as I introduced all kinds of adjustements by hand into the code to make the movements, but I'm working on a sort of "creature maker", putting all the main params adjustable through the Fragmentarium's slide-bars, and other features like some adjustable assymetry in the shapes and movements wink

Here's a flash animation of a symmetric creature but with assymetric movements (between upper and lower parts), adjusted to make the backward swimming stroke of both sides at about the same time:

I will share the script when it's done, I promise smiley

Btw, I love your videos, eiffie  A Beer Cup
