I began playing with Mandelbulb3d last week and am going to use it in a little project I am working on. The sequence was rendered at 720p resolution 1280x720 with larger resolution images taken of the beginning and end frames. All comments welcome!

Hi Darryl,

This looks absolutely great after only one week! I guess there are some ways to make it even better. First, in my opinion the text in the beginning is flashing / fading to fast which makes it difficult to read. Secondly, there seems to be a "stutter" in the sequence. Regrettably I don't know how to solve this, since I'm still in the "single frame" rendering phase with Mandelbulb 3D wink. Maybe someone else can help. But all in all a very good first project.

Regards,

Marco

nice concept. A high res image in the background behind the fractal, could bring an improvement?

@Madman: Thanks for the comments. I am going to change the titles and make them a little more readable. The moire distortions were completely fixed by reducing the RayStep multiplier down from 0.6 to 0.05.

@teamfresh: I am intending to add the rendered animation into another image sequence using green-screen processing. That way it will look like the fractal is sitting amongst trees and the topography of the island. Lots more work to do to prepare for that though...  smiley
