Hi folks.. its great to see a nice active fractal community. Had a great interest in them for many years now, even tried to make a business out of fractal prints , but unfortunately that didnt work out so well.

Im a visual / design guy , so unfortunately lack the head for the math end of things.
Although Ive had much experience creating fractal designs, Ive never got around to trying out 3d fractals, tho have had alot of experience with 3d graphics in general.. so the other day I did some searching about for some 3d fractal software and came across MandleBulb 3D. Im really loving it so far, tho as with many other fractal programmes hard to fine tune a specific idea, or look.

Ive already created some interesting images in the couple of days ive been using it and shall post some work soon. (Is it ok to post images so soon after registering? also is it ok to post images links from my own server?)

The only thing im noticing early on is doing any sort of animation using quality renders is pretty much out of the question right now.

anyway..  hello to all you fellow fractal fans.

regards
pan

ps. er nevermind with the posting question, i see you have a specific gallery section already, nice

Alô alô Pangaea! and welcome.  grin

Please do post your work! For me, the best thing about fractal art is how each person develops his or her own style as they go along, and I especially like to watch newcomers as they progress. Here are a few examples of my more recent work:

That page also has links to my Deviant Art account, so feel free to check it out  cheesy (And I recommend you start a dA account of your own, if you haven't already. Just another nice way to integrate oneself into the fractal art community).

Thank you all for the warm welcome.
Ive been pretty busy and have a nice batch of first time experiments with 3d fractals.. oh boy im loving this so much.. workflow wise its pretty much the same as work with 2d fractal designs.

Well jody , that is some spectacular work there.. looks like i have alot of catching up to do..
I put what ive been working on the last day or so onto a webpage.. some of the images may be a little too big to see on your screen however if you hold down ctrl and use your mouse wheel you can zoom in and out of the webpages.. or alternately you can right click on a a large image and select "view image".. it should open into a new tab cropped into the window
http://fractalscapes.net/designs/3dfrac/gallery.html
all pure, unadulterated mandlebulb32 apart from the underwater spore image which was mostly photoshop...  regarding 2d stuff ive quite alot of them..  you can see some of them at the website i still have (tho its a failed business.. so please dont order anything). www.fractalscapes.net .. just goto gallery link. .. Ive tons more.. including some nice hd 2d zooms (currently producing a 1hr plus video/ ambient/ dedicated to fractal anims.. and art.... its just a dam shame 3d fractals take so much resources otherwise ide include some 3d in the vid too.. we`ll i guess

anyway..
I think im settling in rather well to 3d fractals, and im really having alot of fun.. and im also sorry in all my years of interest and working with fractals it never occurred to me to join a like minded forum... well here i am,,  late to the party as usual

regards
