Rose Red and Leafy Green - go figure

WWW
« on: October 23, 2010, 04:48:53 PM »

 Hello everybody, just joined the forums. Have been a fractal fan since FRACTINT on my '286, studied physics at uni, so am familiar with some of the elementary maths :}

 Sad to hear of Benoit Mandelbrot's passing. Had the brief pleasure of meeting him at the "Xaos" conference in sydney way back in 1988. (He even autographed his paper for me, and some of the other presenters as well)

 My main interests are in music, politics and graphic art, so how that all ties in with fractals, well, i imagine it is more along the lines of chaos theory and catastrophe theory (?!) smiley

 Anyway, just briefly saying hello, and anyone who has worked with the programs "ChaosPro", "ChaosScope" and the great "MandelBulber" would love to hear from you if you have suggestions or perhaps any interesting parameter files to share, fine. Prefer more guidance rather than specific files, as I enjoy exploration more. I still find both ChaosPro and Mandelbulber a little tricky/difficult to understand, the basics about project development/folder storage for my own parameters seems to elude me.

 perhaps anyone who's got tutorial websites - prefer static sites or images rather than video, as I am on dialup, so downloading 40m video files is out of the question till I get broadband  :?

 Cheerio

Hi there, just a "welcome to the forum" from me. I have not been using intensively the programs you play with, but you will get some hints from other members for sure.
