Is it possible to preview the tiles on a tiled render (separately I mean, before they've been put together into one image) by loading them into something like Photoshop? What format are they in?

Tiles are in special binary format, so it's not possible to open it with Photoshop. There is no preview because the most important thing for this feature is to use as low memory as it's possible.

ok, thanks.

Is there any chance of sometime in a future release, adding a 'tile preview' function built into Mandelbulber itself to decompress the .tile files and view them? Often I've had a tile render running over several consecutive nights and it would be nice to look at what it's produced without having to wait several days for the final result.

Or even, the ability to render a specific tile from a set; technically you could do this by creating a dummy .tile file for every tile you want to skip, but it would be nice to just specify x and y tile coordinates and have it just render that one. This would be useful for seeing how it would render a specific section of an image without having to either render the whole thing or mess about zooming the camera into that section.
