It seems like this is my first post in this great forum, so

Hi everyone smiley

I was searching the web for some smart normal vector calculation methods, and I found this forum instead.
The quest for true 3D Mandelbrot Set was awesome reading. Good job!

I would like to share some results from raytracer I'm working on for some time.
It's a zoom of Mandelbulb's first Minibrot (20 iterations).

Image info: standard raytracing, diffuse lighting (one light source), 800x600 scaled to 400x300.
Raytracer: C#, external formula DLLs import, multithreading (CPU only), mouse + keyboard navigation.
TODO: LAN computing.

More results and additional info soon.

i'd be interested to hear what smart normal estimation methods you come across, this is really a pain in the numerical ass  tongue stuck out

somewhere on the surface...

like minibrot, based on http://www.fractalforums.com/3d-fractal-generation/true-3d-mandlebrot-type-fractal/msg7235/#msg7235
(16 iterations)
