Throne Of The Angel

http://www.fractalforums.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=2003

I see a nice place to put a chair and call it a throne, enclosed by nifty Angelic Statuary and Carvings.

But then again, I see lots of things that people question, so ...   evil nasty teeth

I actually like this one - it may go into the contest after some fine tuning!

Yup.

Not sure I recall which formulas - but the program is running an animation test right now and I can't confirm just exactly what I hybridized!

I wish mandelbulb3D would get it's animation thingy set up for zooming.  That was in a tight spot to squeeze into!

But I can wait.  I think this is a really great program!

Thanks!

The lighting controls in Mandelbulb3D have some interesting features I'm learning to exploit.  Mixing a Bitmap light source in with the other lights give some nice results if you pick the image carefully.  afro

Excellent render and color choice. try Julia mode on hybrid formulas, results can be very interesting^^

Navigating around and zooming a formula is weird with mandelbulb 3D, but it's minor detail compared to results. I only use XYZ angle values, next zoom and reducing FoV...

I believe that is a Julia, but after quite a lot of tinkering every parameter just to see what happens.  Be sure to look at it before and after "Inserting Mid Values" in the Julia tab.  Also try editing those numbers by hand  evil

I made something hideous, but refused to waste the time I spent on it - So I just kept zooming in and around the thing - Determined to find a worthy spot!!

Agreed - There are times when I just can't zoom where I want, and cheat by rendering WAY oversized, then crop!  But there are many times I could set up a great zoom if I could just save 2 "keyframes"  and let it calculate like it does with the enabled parameters.

Still, as you said, the Wonderful results mean it's a great program as is, and if more can be done, it's just icing on the cake!

That's what I do everytime. Insert mid values insert regulary 0 or 1, not really interesting when entering (for example) -3 to X and 0.45 to Y can bring something spectacular, depending on the sub-formulas chosen. Opposing two mandelboxes with opposite scales and different R stop is also cool, like a second icing layer on the cake.

That's funny - I never get 0 or 1 when inserting mid values!

I always get a long decimal string  I usually start by playing for an extended period with Mandelbox and other formulas - changing values in them all.  Then when I finally get to the Julia tab, Inserting Mid Values gives dramatically varying numbers!
