The maximum iterations I've ever used for a render is about 3,500,000.

I remember once using 50.000.000 for an image, not sure which one.

The largest number I have used in a movie must be this one:

About 20.000.000 iterations.

Welcome to the forums by the way. howdy
You seem like a enthousiastic mandelbrot (or at least escape time fractal) explorer. I am looking forward seeing you around here. smiley

This must be the largest number of iterations I've ever seen

You can get into lots-of-iterations territory pretty quickly without deep zooming by zooming in to the cardioid boundary between disks.  I've maxxed out the iteration counter in Ultra Fractal (either ~1 or ~2 billion, I forget) several times.  I got around it by iterating several times within each system iteration.

Parabolic case is a good example of high number of iterations ( without zoom because of slow dynamics)

https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Fractals/Mathematics/Numerical#Parabolic_case

but it can be improved by other methods :
