Hi guys, so I was inspired by this video to write my own renderer, just for fun.

The result was: Javascript Mandelbox Explorer

Pros:

  - You may like this colouring method.  (Counts of each of the three fold types inversely affect R/G/B values.)

  - The navigation interface (with mouse dragging and cheap preview) was an afterthought, but I think you'll agree it makes rotation and panning easy and intuitive.  Perhaps some Mandelbulber hacker might like to steal this technique.  

Cons:

  - It's written in Javascript, probably not the ideal language for this sort of thing.

  - The code is really not beautiful.

  - Although I think I managed to calculate the Distance Estimate, I had no idea how to use it!!  

I made some screenshots during development, including some rather beautiful bugs!

By the way, this project has an animated little sister, the Javascript Julia Renderer.
