If I may put my head on the chopping block, so you can all kick it around a bit...

Thanks!

I have never tried Apophysis.  I used Chaoscope for this.

It' my favorite Fractal Generator so far...  but I have only tried a few.

I stick to Freeware so far.  And Freeware that specifically allows for commercial use in it's user agreement at that!

I had to delete a few without trying them out because I could not agree to their user agreement!  (yes...  I actually read those things!)

If I can't do whatever I want with the images, I don't want the program!

I like the detail within this image, and the "loops" within "loops".  Great example of what Chaoscope is capable of.

Thanks!

This one looks even better in the Giant Bitmap!

Chaoscope lets you handle individual axes within each matrix and rotate or transform or shift between two.  It makes "sculpting" IFS structures a lot more controllable.  It's a great interface!

I was going to title this image Scorpion or something like that.

But I don't always give these things names.

hey that's a neat transparency effect, works well with the "glowing" colours to give a kind of ethereal feel!

the structure reminds me of a similar 3d fractal i've rendered, albeit without transparency: http://www.fractographer.com/wip/spiral.png (warning: file is big)

I realy like your version!

I may try to render this again.

I made it early on with the program and could likely improve upon it now.

I like the "Solid" version you made and may render it that way to see what happens.

Maybe this weekend...

i should also mention that the pic is rendered with my own app, so yours will almost certainly be different; i can't even remember how i did mine anymore, but i think it's just a basic ifs, nothing fancy at that stage: it's one of the first 3d ifs renders i programmed, and the hdr environment mapping isn't so great either...

well, glad you like it anyway smiley i'm interested to see the updated version when you get around to it!
