Thanks Jesse, if it worked OK on blob's system, then I'm sure it'll do
the trick on mine. 
I'm so looking forward to almost effortless exploration!

Should work now, the bug was clearly visible, just forgot to add a 1 so the program thought that the last thread was already finished and started the next level... with one core the last thread is the first and so it was not rendered completely.

And thank you blob for the quick response, that helped a lot!

The only thing I'm not sure of is the significance of Zmid : is it the point around which the object turns around when using the arrows?

Yes, all mid Values X,Y and Z represents the midpoint for the rotations with the buttons below the main image.
When the view was send from the navigator, the midpoint is set somewhat in the front of the viewer. Maybe i make an option to set it user defined.

The other buttons on the lower left side are for 2D navigation, what is more or less obsolete now
