how do i split or fragment a fractal to 3d print pieces of a large 3d puzzle

how do i accomplish splitting a fractal into equal portions, so i can 3d print one or two pieces that i can replicate to create a whole object, like pieces  to a 3d puzzle

Assuming you are starting from a "voxel stack" - I would just load the image sequence into a video editor, then crop the screen appropriately, then export the new image sequence.  Then just change the cropping and repeat until finished.
