And extreme aspect ratio (40:1) render of a 1024X formation I found within the Mandelbrot set. Locating the centroid of such extreme features within the Mandelbrot set can be a pain, and the "Find Centroid" checkbox in Mandel Machine often fails. Rendered at 102400x25600, scaled to 25600x640 for 4x4 antialias. Due to the extreme aspect ratio, I have only uploaded a preview render at 1600x40. For full view, please visit my deviantart page:

Fantastic!  shocked roll eyes
Did you create it, or was it there all the time waiting to be discovered??

Not much wait time for orbits at <3000 zoom levels. It starts getting slow go beyond >5000 zooms typically. Mandel Machine is currently limited to 10000 zooms so if I ever hit that limit, I'll have to trod on with your slower but still very useful Kalles Fraktaler program. If I follow the path, there should be a 2048X formation around 4455 zoom levels, a 4096X formation around 6682 zoom levels, and a 8192X formation at about 10,023 zooms. My zoom location estimates have ironically been slightly short so it's unlikely I would hit the 8192X formation within the 10000 zoom limit.

If I decide to go further with these formations, I may back up to the edge of the 256X formation and "key" the fractal pattern by slightly adjusting the spacing when zooming to the edge. Currently, I've been zooming into the midget equidistant between the third dendrites on the inner arms of the X formation at the edge of each 2^N formation. If I were to use the forth dendrite as a reference starting with 256X formation, then there would be a slightly wider gap between every 256th X chromosome. By "keying" the formation in this manner, the effect would be subtle enough not to break the visual flow of the pattern, but just so I can identify the centroid visually without "guessing" on 2^N rows greater than or equal to 512.

Wow. Thats an amazing looking panorama/morph. The comment you replied to yesterday (on DA) was about a similar project I planned to do. Because of a lack of time I'm still not done with it. It contains some other shapes as well and it has that mistake I told you about. Is it ok if I post it as well if it is finished?

Btw, if you want to upload those massive raw images ''gigapan'' might be a good free way to display them. Since there is a size limit on DA.

Sure go ahead, I would be honored. As for the "XX" technique, I "borrowed" the idea from HPDZ.net "Metaphase" video and really ran away with the ball. He got it from an old Fractint parameter file he found on a BBS somewhere dating back to the 90s. I do not know who the original author was. I intentionally publish my coordinates so people can see how I make them. Feel free to use my techniques. I don't really troll DA much these days so I don't always notice comments until months later, hence my recent albeit late reply.

As for the gigapan service, I need to investigate it. I have a wonderful antialiased 23040x23040 render of the zoomed out Mandelbrot I made in Fractal Extreme.

It is so big, it gives the illusion of a realtime zoom program by scrolling with the mouse wheel in Windows Image preview. FX cannot render bitmaps larger than one-half binary gigapixel because it outputs bitmaps and the file limitation forbids it (I get corrupted images otherwise). I've got 16 gigabytes of RAM on my desktop so there's enough memory to go larger but Mandel Machine also has the same hard limit set of one-half binary gigabyte or about 536 Megpixels. 23040x23040 is a good maxed out square resolution to work with for square images. At 530Mp, 23040x23040 ((360x64)^2) makes a nicely round number divisible by small prime factors 2, 3, and 5. For 3x4 aspect, I recommend 25600x19200, and for 16x9, I recommend 17280x30720 pixels as it scales to 1920x1080 by a factor of 16x16 times.
