Generating a Fractal Fern

I have been looking at various sets of IFS functions and have found the four that are used to generate a fractal fern.  My question regards the values for the coefficients for a, b, c, d, e, f, and p.  How were these determined?  Are there some good reference documents that describe the process that was followed?
