I recently set up an animation with post dof in cpu mode (as opencl ALLWAYS uses mc dof, at least when automatic dof is enabled fiery). Everything went ok, until I tried to start the first snippet of the (keyframe-) animation. Estimated time for the first (or any other) frame: around 195 h! That's not funny! I guess in animation mode even the cpu renderer uses mc dof without leaving a choice to me. I'd be grateful, to have a choice, which sort of dof will be used - in cpu or in opencl mode. Best would be a choice in both renderers...

Please be patient. Next version of Mandelbulber is almost done. In new version there will be two modes for rendering DOF with OpenCL. One will be MC and second will be as old post effect (but rendered on GPU - really fast). SSAO will be also rendered with GPU.

You can follow all information about changes here: https://code.google.com/p/mandelbulber/source/list

No problem, I downgraded for now. As I do not really need other advanced settings for the animation, this is a practical way...
