Start of a series of pictures, zooming in on part of the Mandelbrot (which will lead to a minibrot in due course).

So far (as of this post) I've got 22 pictures generated, with the next one on the go, using a colour palette which I tried to make look  like a metallic surface, then stepped slightly between the odd and even palette entries.

Copy of this palette file is available if requested.

As I can only post one picture a day (rightly so), it will give me plenty of time for this series to unfold.  I did start the series without AA turned on without realising, then turned it on later, but the first few images were taking too long to redraw so I gave up.

This first image was already 533 zooms in, so as to not get too boring, but I may at some point zoom back out to allow you to see where it came from...

Anyway, onward, ever onward...
