Only Thought can Rival Nature | ||||||

Description: My latest work, finished just late this week “Only Thought can Rival Nature” Homage to Andrew “Android” Jones Oil on Canvas 38”x19” Two years ago this summer while working on 2 sculptures of split skulls, under glass domes and contemplating nature, I had a realization. Nature, with all its diversity, all its magic and math, its amazing breath and width had only one thing that can possibly be “more”. That thing is human thought. Each and every one of us has the capacity to be more dynamic, more creative, more colorful and more inspiring, than the subject we have always been taught has no equal, nature. Here, in this painting, the forms of nature, (birds, fish and other life forms) represent the diversity of thought in a human. And that they can and do exist within and beyond the boundary of the body. I have long admired an individual who has pushed the limits of digital art for over a decade, Andrew Jones is an individual who is a force of nature. This painting is an Homage to his body of work and the amazing things he has done. While the painting is unlike anything I have done in the past, it is also rooted in similarity with everything I have done, starting with the mathematics of fractal geometry. In this case a JWildfire flame. LMarkoya | May 17, 2015, 10:12:51 PM As described, each element from nature represents a thought, and its diversity. I never saw it as busy, just a being having several ideas |

LMarkoya | May 17, 2015, 03:51:40 AM Thank you mclarekin, the actual lenticulars are so much cooler...some actually look like the image is set in glass about 14-18" deep I have always been a big fan of patrich woodroffe...and have some of his books... |
mclarekin | May 17, 2015, 02:23:00 AM Love the busyness, to my mind it engages the viewer for longer I know little about art, but I like individual details being part of the whole like - patrick woodroffe https://squirrelbasket.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/oak-and-the-ram.jpg The compexity of Nature amazes me, but give my mind a chance and I will amaze Nature PS. The GIFs of lenticular art , on your site are cool. |
