Sockratease | July 20, 2014, 01:52:29 PM Thanks mclarekin! If you want to see an example of how well selectively blurring works in these cases, see this image : http://www.fractalforums.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=11072 Then render it from the parameters posted. It renders fast. Look at that banana now! To smooth that noise out with a stupid low raystep thingy like 0.000001 takes hours to render, but the blurring took under a minute! |
mclarekin | July 20, 2014, 06:27:52 AM Nice image, and thanks for the idea of selective blurring. @Dermis. Yeah, I know what you mean, they should be restricted like me to one mediocre per day and maybe one slightly better per month. |
Sockratease | July 19, 2014, 04:17:55 PM Thanks Dermis, for the comment and bringing the over-posting to my attention (I don't moderate the gallery, I mostly keep spam bots at bay and pitch in as needed - I'll make sure the appropriate people are alerted and users politely reminded about the limits ). As for the noise, I usually fix that stuff in post work with selective blurring, but this time I just didn't bother (the jaggies up top should be blurred too!). |
Dermis | July 19, 2014, 03:55:50 PM Cool shapes and great colour if a little noisy at the bottom. I wonder if the "One true path" refers to the observers of the "One post per day" axiom. There seem to be people posting up to 5 mediocre renders per day, which is rather annoying! |
