The Evolution of Lego
Previous Image | Next Image
Description: Back when I was young (... yeah, I know, it was way way back, in a different century...) I loved Lego. In a way, Lego was like fractals, since the possibilities where infinite, even with just a couple of building blocks. Just like the way Lego has evolved to a mature stage where it now seems possible to build real-life working machinery, it seems to me that M3D is also evolving to an ever increasing higher maturity. So I guess this one is a tribute to both Lego and Jesse's genius in creating M3D  A Beer Cup

THat one is def more similar. I like to ponder the algorithms that decide if something is similar or not. You can kind of see it visually, even in the more dis-similar images, but it's hard to pin down the exact reasons sometimes.

Thanks Don. I personally think this one comes closer:

It's the one next to your selection ;-) I don't need a plugin however, but I just click on the camera in google image search...

ha, have to share this...

I have a browser plugin that lets you right-click to search Google Images with any pic. It's a great tool, and it's also fun to see what turns up in the "Visually Similar" results. I like to throw confusing or unique images at it to see what turns up. They aren't always similar, but the patterns and color similarities are interesting.

I searched this pic just for fun. Here is one of Google's Visually Similar results

Ans here is a Google search for Trunicate green - full of fractally sealife.

Even the Google algorithms recognize a good fractal when it sees one. (^_^)
