Fractalic Rhinoceros Lacemaker
Previous Image | Next Image
Description: Second image in my series (?) of fractal versions of classical masterpieces, this time "The Lacemaker" by Vermeer (/Dalí).

To make a long story short, Salvador Dalí was fascinated by the connection between  "The Lacemaker" by Vermeer http://www.essentialvermeer.com/catalogue/lacemaker.html and the horns of the Rhinoceros. http://www.essentialvermeer.com/catalogue/images/intractv/lace_dali.jpg

  <a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/WbhzowNipuk&rel=1&fs=1&hd=1" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/WbhzowNipuk&rel=1&fs=1&hd=1</a>

This lead me to do a comment to LMarkoya that "The Lacemaker" probably where hiding somewhere in the Rhinoceros fractal I was working on at the moment: http://mandelwerk.deviantart.com/#/d34v0ef
And a couple of days ago I found her (not in that fractal though), in this image she is mysteriously merged with the rhino and the furniture! I feel a quantum-physical state in these 3D fractals, the images doesn't exist until you start looking for them.

I superimposed  this fractal onto Vermeers original canvas in Photoshop, fractal part rendered with Mandelbulb 3D. Vermeers original masterpiece Photoshopped onto the "wall" in the background.

Sorry about the small render, but it was a really hard hybrid to get decent results of when trying to do it bigger... Might do a bigger in the future, with a more thought through composition.
