Description: All doned with Mandelbulb3d. Except for borders/text and some contrast. I was more specialized in DEcombinate mode with Min lin and Min nlin, and the first time i saw those kind of technics, it was from an initial idea of Dortus Gunst. -This one was doned with DEcombinate in "Max mode" between escape time formula (_AmazingBoxSSE2,Amazingsurf,FoldingIntPow) and a heightmapifs. -The map was doned from a free 3Dmodel in blender, in 24 bits Png. -A very low value for "far plane"(1.35) to make partial transparent fractal and so to have a background -And much time for colors/lighting, because i'am never satisfied Thanx for viewing. weavers | May 28, 2016, 04:51:24 PM link to 2016 reviews>http://www.fractalforums.com/fractal-art-review/compo-review-2016-by-weavers THE CONCEPT: The concept you chose as a premise is both daring and bold! a story that must be told. You feel an apocalypse is coming and decided as only you can do, to try to warn us too, what you see conceptually in your mind, and depicted a compositionality to demonstrate a fate no one wishes for, unless one is mad. Is she my mother or yours? Asks a barely visible stranger standing nearby in the shadows of the night ; She has no smile, her skin is ravaged by disease and disintegration, due to time. It's crime, for once she was young and pretty. On her door no one knocks anymore, or comes to visit, you don't see her feet, you don't see that she wears no shoes. Is it that she considers the dirt and rocks of the earth birth place of her birth, upon which the world was created too sacred? And where is her world, so we know where not to go? Hers is a world that you contemplate is our fate? Hers is a world that mothers hate? Hers is a world that instills fear, the environment bears scars from ear to ear, from explorers returning from mars, are shocked to see what they see and hear? Perhaps, perhaps not. Hers is an inheritance devoid of mental equilibrium, negates her ability to remember who she is, who she is not, and most of all, her cry, her cry, alleging that she is a victim is a lie, and rings hollow, for it takes two to dance, It takes two to romance and follow, . . For it was she; a woman gave birth to the hands that upset the lands, upset the the harmony of the earth, upset the family, the sky falls if the male and female are not carrying it in mental equilibrium. The math, the Fractal math is clear : "Do unto others, only that which you would want others, to do unto you." Thank you Master Pulsar69, a story we'll keep in mind, a fairy tale out of your mind. A great picture too! Keep it up won't you! Wish you luck in the contest |

pulsar69 | May 14, 2016, 07:33:33 PM --> Dermis Like Sockratease say it ! If you try with Blender, i can help you to set the process. (Ask in PM if necessary) Cheers Philippe |

Sockratease | May 13, 2016, 11:11:11 AM Quote from: Dermis Excellent work! I'm intrigued, how do you get a 2D grayscale map, from a 3D object? Thanks in advance! =] Hi - many 3D Applications export them. It is called different things in different programs, but look for things like "Height Map," "Z-Buffer," and that sort of thing. Try for a program that exports at least 16 Bit maps (Blender does 24 bits, and it's free!). I use Carrara, but it only exports 8 Bit "Z Buffers" and I get artifacts. You also want to export them in high resolution for best quality. Hope that helps, and Great Work there pulsar69! |

dolphin767 | May 12, 2016, 08:34:29 AM Well, I knew there would be fractal artwork much better than mine, and I was right. This is incredible. Still don't understand how you achieved this, but it's fascinating. |
