The ships are held in place with strong magnetic fields, that's true.
Dunno exactly what that is on top, outside mirror or something.

I would also like some strong spotlights, that makes light traces  smiley
but that are only positional lights so far.

This is very interesting.  Top left corner, on the second to the end floating platform, is that a tree?  I think the mandelbox has strong magnetic properties.  That's what keeps those things floating.
