Bent-Winged Angel | September 11, 2010, 05:35:02 PM Ohhh I forgot one thing! You need to explain it as if I were a 5 yr. old with a 10 yr. old PC and Chaospro & FE are the only programs.. |
David Makin | September 11, 2010, 01:59:58 PM The algorithm for the AO is extremely simple - base the ambient level on the distances from the sides of the cube. Obviously it doesn't work so well for very sparse Mandelboxes but in general it's pretty good. I just experimented with a quadratic conversion from the distances to an ambient value, leaving a lot of parameters for the user to tweak to control the effect. Because I'm using the original Mandelbox formula changing the parameters for the Mandelbox causes gross changes to the box size so I added some pre-render code to get the size/extent of the box (and calculate the scaling value for DE). |
bib | September 11, 2010, 09:34:08 AM How to make what? Ambient occlusion or a Mandelbox? |
Bent-Winged Angel | September 10, 2010, 09:38:46 PM I am fascinated, mezmurized. I need to know how to make this.. (and no one will get hurt) |
