Description: Thanks to lenord for sharing his param for TubeWorld. I modified it a bit, and added a commquat iteration to get this funky beast! 1600x1200 is here: http://reallybigname.com/renders/images/TubeWorldCommQuat_1600x1200.jpg Stats: Total Favorities: 1 View Who Favorited Filesize: 280.15kB Height: 900 Width: 1200 Keywords: commquat mandelbulb Posted by: reallybigname December 20, 2010, 07:07:01 PM Rating: by 5 members. reallybigname | December 22, 2010, 01:27:37 AM Thanks ya'll, but I just have to say that lenord's original coloring/lighting was way more awesome! I admit it, I kind of skimped on the lighting, and did some color adjust in photoshop. However, I think the lighting effects that you guys like are actually due to the fact that I lowered the raystep multiplier down to .01! I think that was the lowest I had ever gone, and it took quite a few hours to render at 3200x2400, which I shrunk to 1600x1200. I just can't wait until our computers are fast enough that we're setting the raystep multiplier down to ridiculous scientific notation values. (like 1.2 x 10-4) |
Madman | December 21, 2010, 11:44:19 PM Pretty cool... It almost doesn't look like a fractal anymore, but just like some famous abstract art painting. Colours and composition are pretty much perfect. |

Power 8 | December 21, 2010, 07:52:50 PM Wow a Zerg breeding cave! Great atmosphere in this one +1 colors + lights |
reallybigname | December 21, 2010, 03:44:42 AM Thanks! I intend to tweak it some more! I just love the spheres with the tendrils between levels... Such an awesome find, lenord. Did you encounter it through just tweaking params, or did you have a mathematical plan to make it? I love what a few variations of iteration counts can do... |
lenord | December 20, 2010, 10:41:51 PM That's cool dude, nice tweakin, great color and lighting too |
