Description: I did this video just before the Mandelbulb frenzy. I still think it's one of my best, because I was so lucky to find a tune that fits perfectly with the animation... Pauldelbrot | May 02, 2010, 07:49:03 AM Nice. If they redid the first Star Trek film they'd probably use a Mandelbulb or Mandelbox or hybrid for some of the FX. Actually, this is one of two videos here with sequences that remind of parts of that film, and one of those also had a part reminiscent of part of the "stargate" sequence in 2001. (The latter had color-changing landscape flyovers after zooming abstract forms. The "life is strange" bulb video reminds at one point of the flyover part, and one of the Mandelbrot deepzooms reminds of the abstract part and uses the movie's sound FX or something very close.) Generally quite a mix of interesting and good videos here. |
Guest | May 01, 2010, 07:00:44 PM The music reminded me of the old space alien movies, esp. the one I think it was called: The Day the Earth Stood Still. The part of your movie that spooked me was near the end (time 1:21), it looked like a face and then skull of an alien drifting in space along with the other debris floating in space. I liked it very much. |
LhoghoNurbs | April 29, 2010, 06:48:27 PM Hm. Nice vintage feelings... |
aluminumstudios | April 24, 2010, 10:55:43 AM The music reminds me of something from the old Robotech soundtrack :-) I like the fractal, the coloration, and the flight across it quite a bit. The (lack of) anti-aliasing and how I can see it being drawn in as the camera pulls across it in the beginning distracts me a little bit however. |
