Description: Mandelbrot dive to 2E+105. Took almost 2 years continuous rendering on 4 systems; made with FractInt in DOS. I am still continuing it to E+112 - should be done in a couple months. Kalles Fraktaler | April 06, 2015, 08:39:45 AM Too bad the movie is not on youtube anymore. 2 years is an impressive amount of patience. |
Pauldelbrot | May 02, 2010, 07:19:28 AM Impressive depth. |
Guest | May 01, 2010, 06:44:28 PM Very hypnotic! Reminded me of my tie-dyed shirt dazes, as I am sitting here in a tie-dyed shirt. Loved it. |

LhoghoNurbs | April 02, 2010, 08:20:06 PM Wow! I spent 5 minutes watching it for the first time. Then I realized that the animation is only 4 minutes, so I got a minute lost somewhere on the way. I watched it again to find that minute and found the problem ... after the end of the animation I keep seeing fractal shapes popping out of the screen or the wall or the worried faces of my relatives... I needed a whole minute to recover my normal vision and 2 minutes more to assure them I'm OK. BTW some of the frames reminded me of several ethnic art works I've seen in a museum, mainly African patterns. Thanks! |
Pauldelbrot | April 02, 2010, 02:48:38 PM The sound effect reminds me of the "stargate" sequence in 2001. Is that where it's from? |
cKleinhuis | April 02, 2010, 01:41:29 PM very trippy ... interesting mandalas along the path though, horrific sound ( i am thinking my head bangs every second !) |
stardust4ever | April 02, 2010, 09:25:14 AM FractInt in DOS - Isn't that 16-bit? 2 whole years??? Wow... That factor alone garners a lot of respect from me. I would never have had the patience to render something for that long. Then again, maybe I am just spoiled by the ridiculous render speeds made possible only by 64-bit computing. That's quite some dedication you have there |
cKleinhuis | April 02, 2010, 04:53:49 AM where is the movie ?! ;( |
