The GEometry of Innocence
Previous Image | Next Image
Description: “The Geometry of Innocence” Oil on Canvas 19"x25" It is not uncommon to get the feeling of cosmic gooseflesh, which forms fractals on your skin, but here we have cosmic gooseflesh forming the geometry of innocence right before your very eyes. Perhaps deceitful, this painting uses the sensual stance and look of the female character as a hook, but engages the viewer to think just what the geometry of innocence is. Is innocence found in the fractal formation of the nubile teen, or in the fractal formations of the thunderhead which has positioned itself behind her, or in the Julia fractal that is dynamically taking her skin beyond the cosmic gooseflesh state to the effervescent female form, created from fractals. Here is a celebration of everything that is fractal, fluid and occurs just below the ability for our senses to detect. LMarkoya | July 06, 2016, 02:20:29 AM Thank you Christian Utilizing fractals in a classical environment has been my mission for years. To me it is the only way to get some recognition for what fracta are and can be. By juxtaposing fractal geometry with everyday objects and more or less classical composition, color and drama. The fractal becomes the hook without the viewer knowing it.....the viewer can relate to the recognizable elements of the work without knowing the fractal is what is expanding their thought process and neural firing. Orbittrap I don't want to get into, but I do not have much respect for any of the viewpoints there. Of course anyone can get on the web and spout diarrhea, but something in the way those guys write makes them seem like they feel their point of view is the right one, and that they are superior. I have had a few run-ins through postings with them, and I did not know they even existed still....as I would not think they have much of an audience. Glad you like the painting....it is my hope that works like this can gain an audience for fractals in art......not fractal art. |

cKleinhuis | July 06, 2016, 01:36:36 AM Quote from: LMarkoya Thank you again guys, as you know, it is my intention to utilize fractals to make more "classical" art, in the hopes they can gain wider acceptance and audience......we shall see for this we have to develop a plan, i think the classical art review discussing about fractal art has not been widely defined, the words and facts that make aspects of a fractal artwork interesting need to be defined, i am trying to motivate some classic art educated people to write stuff about fractals - from the classical art point of view - much like http://orbittrap.ca/ is/was doing, but he had a to nerdish tone not reaching to the "classic" art dudes, closest is photography, showing similarities to photography could be a starter for such a series of articles bringing fractals to mainstream and yes lois we are in the same boat here! |
