Fractal Cranium | ||||||

Description: I also posted a movie of this in the movie section, but wanted to show a high res render to, this being one of my most unique fractal find until this day. KIFS fractal with added foldings and sphere inverts... You do not see real fractal craniums every day... KRAFTWERK | September 12, 2016, 03:46:33 PM Thanks Tim! |
Tim Emit | September 08, 2016, 06:50:33 PM real nice fine structures, simian skulltastic |
KRAFTWERK | June 05, 2016, 09:19:45 AM Thank you Dermis. Glad you like it! And @Chris: I still don't understand how that technique would "fill in tissue layers" without altering the formula? |
Dermis | June 04, 2016, 11:14:03 AM Awesome find, beautifully rendered! |
Chris Thomasson | June 03, 2016, 09:53:21 PM Quote from: KRAFTWERK Thank you Bryan! And thank you for the link Chris! Not sure if I can do "volumetric rendering" in Mandelbulb 3D, I could do some DE-fog... FWIW, I used ImageJ to render the stack of images for the "alien" thing created by my software. IIRC, it was only 640 layers, and should be compatible with 3d volumetric printing. https://imagej.nih.gov/ij/ IMVHO, its really fun to explore volumetrics. Every image stack in here: http://www.fractalforums.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=17491 was rendered by ImageJ. |

1Bryan1 | June 02, 2016, 09:43:24 AM Very smart |
Chris Thomasson | June 02, 2016, 04:10:38 AM You made a wonderful skeletal structure, now lets fill in the tissues. I wonder if my volumetric rendering with a stack of images and the alien being thing I found can be used to fill in tissue layers using your skull as a guide. |
Chris Thomasson | June 01, 2016, 11:49:33 PM Quote from: KRAFTWERK Thank you Chris and Caleidoscope, glad you like it. And very interesting images Chris, but very big... makes the page load slowly... could you change them to a couple of smaller images maybe? I posted a link to the image rather than embed it. The page should load much more quickly, sorry about that! BTW, do you have any knowledge about the caveats of printing 3d volumetric renderings? Something like: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volumetric_printing ? |

Caleidoscope | June 01, 2016, 03:43:19 PM He is very handsome I'm afraid I can't help but fall It is incredible. |
Chris Thomasson | May 31, 2016, 11:34:24 PM This is totally excellent work! It kind of eerily reminds me of the following creature I found by exploring a volumetric rendering of a reverse Julia set: http://www.fractalforums.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=17412 |
