Interesting textures. The use of this technique is in describing those areas that are around a precise line or curve in a generalised or root mean square way. Thus for a vortex whirlwind the eddy flows would give precise lines but the surrounding dust particles would describe a more "blurred" path. It would be interesting to see the effect on navier stoke type equations and intense spiral images in 3d.

I do not mind that it is not "fractal" because it looks "rough" to me! kiss

Some of these images remind me of Stephen Hawkings representation of the quantum worm hole field,and for that i thank you.

Fractal this or not i don't know, but this help to see fractals. I made this simple, result of sobel i connect with lines.
