The Mandelbulbs blossom and come alive with the coming of the Fractal Spring.

A new formula and scenes from mclarekin, made with Mandelbulber 1.21 (OpenCL). New formula is "the standard mandelbulb with fabs() controls and a swap option with start stop controls." Called "a_MB_base" for now. Featuring original solo piano compositions from me, Steve Sink, called "Pretty" and a piece called "Anthony."

I put all of mclarekin's fract files that he sent me, along with the new formula, into the blender and added some glow and changed the raymarching just a tad. Then I added a background but had to move a couple of frames to avoid the background seam in the sky, where the edges wrap around and don't mesh perfectly. V 1.21 has fewer options to change the orientation of the background. So this is largely just a test video to show some scenes with the new fractal formula (I assume will be in v 2.11). I haven't played with it much. But plan to!

I enclosed the new formula and mclarekin's fract files as sent to me. Thanks so much Graeme for letting me test drive these new formulas for you and the team!
