I was flicking through a physics book in the book shop today (called The Physics Book), the page on year 1963 is about chaos and has a big picture of Twinbee's Mandelbulb. In fact its this one:

I wonder if Twinbee knows about that smiley

Also, anyone look at plus.maths.org? It has had a mandelbulb in the corner of the page for about a year now:

Its a popular graphic.

This is really cool, I sure hope Daniel gave them permission to use that lovely image.
Those early images by Daniel are still the best in my opinion... I've tried to beat them but never succeeded, I wish I could try his renderer some day...  afro
