I uploaded an image into the gallery.  I can't remember if it was today or last night, so when I try to upload another image I am told that I exceeded the daily limit.

If it was possible to display the date and time I uploaded the last image, I could then get an idea of how long I have before I can upload the next image.

Otherwise, if I was told "You have another 2 hours 5 minutes before you can upload the next image." or something similar, that would be even more helpful.

That would avoid any issues with time differences due to locale from confusing the issue even more.

Many thanks.

hmm, this would have to be done within the gallery, hacking it, hacking the gallery is not nice because future update chancel such updates out, you might be confused of the day start/end, the start and end for a day is what is ritten in the upper part, so, basically if you are blocked you have to wait for 00:00 in the forums time zone, which is displayed on top sad

If it was possible to display the date and time I uploaded the last image...

Date and time is displayed in each post.

I use the Simple Timer extension in my (Firefox) browser that reminds me (daily) and opens the Fractal Forums url.
After I have posted a new image I update the timer to reflect the new time value.

I would think there is an equivalent extension for Chrome.

Hope this is helpful.

The feature you want is a standard part of many forums software, but not here.  I'm still not convinced it has any merit on this site.  Like Paul said - there is not really anything to hide in a place like this!

Anything to hide?  Who said anything about things being hidden?

I simply have 30+ images to upload to show a zoom series and don't always remember when I uploaded the last image. If the forum were to tell me the date and time of the last image I uploaded I wouldn't have to look at the last image to try to work it out.

Oh and by the way, if I upload an image at 23:55 I can not upload another image at 00:05am, so the gallery is checking the last 24 hours starting from the time of the current attempt to upload.

Surely if the gallery is checking for the last upload date and time, it must know what that is in order to tell me I've exceeded my daily upload limit and therefore it would be courteous to display that information to me so I don't have to waste precious bandwidth checking the last post myself.

Maybe send a feature request to SMF forums to see if they can add that option to the gallery module.  If you don't, I will.  Maybe if we all did that it would get added as an option in future releases.

the forum is using european time, you can check for a "new day" in the upper right corner of the forums where the internal day/time is displayed, in the upper recangle below the main menu, right below "imprint/contact" which might be of help for you wink
