Is possible found a tutorial that explains how "morphing" a fractal, eg. integer power, and then make an animation?

Thanks.

somewhere might be a tutorial about it, but the step is straightforward, change hybrid mode from "alternate" to "interpolate" and then you can interpolate an arbitrary fractal into another, by using the interpolation value, can someone please elaborate ? i am not using mb3d right now ...

Hi there! I know this topic is really old, but I believe it's exactly what I'm having trouble with and I can't seem to get it right. Hopefully you could elaborate, as you asked others, hehe...
I'm trying to do as stated above: Morph, in an animation, from one formula into another (for example from Mandelbulb to Julia of mandelbulb) smoothly. But all it does, after I put the two into sequenced keyframes, is change in about 3 or 4 steps, instead of a gradual, smooth morphing.... Any help?
Thanks! =)

first of all:

- mixing julia/mandelbulb is tricky, because of the different initialisations, it might work, but might produce different results

hehe, let me elaborate:

- do not confuse keyframes and interpolation, mandelbulb3d simply cant interpolate on a keyframe base between different fractals, what it does is just hard-switching to another fractal when it reaches the new keyframe

- to make it work proceed as follows:
   1. Choose Hybrid Mode "Interpolate" the middle of the top 3 buttons in mb3d
   2. the number of hybrid formulas then becomes limited to just 2
   3. choose a second formula in the second formula tab
   4. examine the formula window, in the lower part of the formula tabs you now find a "weight" value, this becomes normalised,   sounds more complicated than it is, play with it, if one value is 0 you have the 100% of the other one if it is e.g. 1

so, as a starter take the below param setting, open up the 3dexplorer and play with the "weight" variable, which can be found in the parameter sliders when expanding the navigator window with the arrow in the lower right part

make a keyframe1 with formula1 "weight"=1 and formula2 "weight"=0
make a second keyframe2 with switched weights: formula1 "weight"=0 and formula2 "weight"=1

click on render preview and et voila wink

*snip*

Thank you! =) That worked. Wonderful. So after some experimenting, I see that it is only possible to do this from one formula to another. Is there any way to sequence, let's say, 4 or 5 different morphs in the same .m3a file? I mean, I can just use multiple m3a files, and join them up with a video editor afterward... But, you know... Would be nice to have them all in one ;P

Also, one more question if you don't mind: How does the DECombinate work?? Grin with closed eyes
Thanks again  A Beer Cup

as mb3d allows to completely switch formulas in a keyframe, proceed as follows to have it all in one file:

formula#weight

- keyframe 1 formula1#1 and formula2#0
- keyframe 2 formula1#0 and formula2#1
now sequence ended for first morph, now switch formulas (with just few frames in between, this should result in the same image as previous keyframe)
- keyframe 3 formula2#1 and formula3#0
then morph to
- keyframe 3 formula2#1 and formula3#0

the decombinate, i am unsure how it is exactly working in mb3d, but you give me reason to spam my videos, in the axolotl chaostube i am talking about decombination, it is a simple conjunction of various DE methods, like min() or max() which unites different DEs cheesy watch the first part of the axolotl video where it is explained in great detail!
