Mandelbrot in SQL

Hi. I came across this forum while trying to find if anyone had done anything similar to what I have here: http://arbitraryscrawl.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/fractsql.html. This the Mandelbrot set created entirely in a MySQL database, which I have seen it done in SQL in a number of places but not by this method. I'd be interested to know if it has been done before.

I cannot run that (using OpenOffice) but from looking at the code it appears to be using the normal method of testing each point in turn rather than doing all points in a single command.
