I did some experiments in 1997 with using fractals to make computer generated music. The album is called "Fractalus" and is freely available.
I've written extensively in my myspace blog on how it was produced and my thoughts on the experiments. The computed music was not restricted to fractal algorithms but instead used it in the variation of the note selection. From my experiments with various mathematical algorithms for creating music i found that the fractals did make the compositions a lot more interesting. And am still quite pleased with the results.
