hmm, you posted the electromagnetic wave equation ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electromagnetic_wave_equation ).



While it is true that electromagnetic waves are generated by a lightning bolt, I think that the discharge event may be governed by a much simpler equation, say... Ohm's law ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ohm%27s_law )
